If you're reading this, you've agreed to a few simple things. The text, images, and design of this site belong to us unless attributed otherwise. You can quote short passages with credit, but please don't republish the catalogue, product photos, or written content wholesale. We list prices in good faith and they're current as of publication, but anything we list — prices, availability, hours, lead times — can change. We reserve the right to turn down a booking or order, with a full refund. We stand behind what we make: if something arrives damaged, isn't what you ordered, or doesn't meet the description, tell us and we'll repair, replace, or refund without argument. None of this affects the statutory rights you have as a consumer where you live.

You can request a copy of everything we hold on you, ask for any of it to be corrected, withdraw consent for processing, or have your records deleted entirely. We will handle any reasonable request within thirty days without charge. You also have the right to ask for your data in a portable, machine-readable format so you can move it elsewhere. Seats are first-come outside of booked events. Laptops are welcome on weekdays until the lunch rush; at busy times we may ask long-stayers to share tables. Dogs stay on leads and off chairs, and the barista's decision on 'too rowdy' is final. Menu prices are shown in yen and include consumption tax; the day's bakes can sell out without notice and a listed item is not a promise it will exist at four in the afternoon.
Recipes published in our notes are for home use; halve the salt if your oven runs hot, and we accept no responsibility for banana bread that did not rise. Content on this site is ours — share it with a link, don't republish it wholesale. These terms are governed by Japanese law, with the Niigata District Court as the agreed venue for anything a flat white cannot resolve.
The back room seats fourteen and can be booked for cupping evenings, book clubs and small workshops. A booking is confirmed when we reply saying so, not when the form is sent. Cancelling with more than 48 hours notice costs nothing; inside 48 hours we ask for the room fee, because the evening's bakes will already be proving. If we have to cancel — burst pipe, staff illness — you get the fee back and first refusal on the next date.
Gift cards are valid for twelve months, cannot be redeemed for cash, and a lost card is, regrettably, a lost card.
Lost property lives in the box behind the counter for two months, then goes to charity — except keys and cards, which we hold for six months because losing those hurts more. The bike rack is unsupervised and locks are your responsibility; the bench outside belongs to the street as much as to us, and drinks taken out there are still our drinks, on our crockery, if you would kindly bring the cup back.
None of this is meant to read like a contract drafted at midnight. It is the working agreement of a small room that wants to stay pleasant, written down.

Background music is licensed through the collecting society; if you film content in the cafe, the licence to our playlist does not travel with your video, so bring your own audio. Photography of your own table is always fine; photographing other guests needs their nod, not ours.
